Ieri in prima serata, nella cornice del Porto di Levante di Vulcano presso il bar ristorante Il Faraglione, è stato presentato l’ultimo libro di Italo Toni “Lipari noi ragazzi di ieri”. Per tutti noi, isolani nativi o adottivi, è stato un privilegio incontrare l’Uomo-Isola pluripremiato per la qualità della sua scrittura, la sua umanità che sa toccare il cuore e l’intelligenza e varca tutti i confini ben oltre le sue amate Isole Eolie.
I suoi compagni di viaggio, i ragazzi di ieri, Onofrio Natoli, Mariano Bruno, Antonio Brundu sono stati i relatori dell’evento. Siamo stati incantati dalla lettura di una poesia di Italo Toni, proposta dalla sua nipotina “fanciulla di oggi”.
I libro “Lipari noi ragazzi di ieri”, il 39 esimo della prolifica opera letteraria e poetica dell’Autore, è stato presentato in anteprima mondiale in Australia e dedicato agli Eoliani immigrati nell’isola australe, agli antipodi, dove permane forte il legame con Lipari, Madre-Isola.
Prossimo appuntamento a Salina, presso la biblioteca l’11 Luglio alle 19:00, poi a Panarea ed altri luoghi incantevoli dove l’Autore stesso ci invita a partecipare tramite i social.
Yesterday in the early evening, in the setting of the Porto di Levante of Vulcano at the bar restaurant Il Faraglione, Italo Toni’s latest book “Lipari noi Ragazzi di Ieri”was presented. For all of us, native or adopted islanders, it was a privilege to meet the award-winning Island Man for the quality of his writing, his humanity that can touch the heart and intelligence and crosses all borders well beyond his beloved Aeolian Islands.
His traveling companions, the boys of yesterday, Onofrio Natoli, Mariano Bruno, Antonio Brundu were the speakers at the event. We were enchanted by the reading of a poem by Italo Toni, proposed by his granddaughter “today’s girl”.
The book “Lipari us boys of yesterday”, the 39th of the Author’s prolific literary and poetic work, was presented as a world premiere in Australia and dedicated to the Aeolians who immigrated to the southern island, the antipodes, where the bond with Lipari, the Mother Island, remains strong.
Next appointment in Salina, at the library on July 11th at 7pm, then in Panarea and other enchanting places where the Author himself invites us to participate via social media.
